On September 25, the third networking and experience exchange event, World Turns Deep Tech for young scientists and students of economics, business, design, law, and other specializations, took place at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. It was a warm-up event for the Hydrogen X Future Hackathon taking place during the first weekend of October at the ISSP UL.
The special focus of the event was on the topic of future energy opportunities and challenges. From representatives of the leading Latvian energy company Latvenergo AS, participants learned about the company’s vision for green or future energy in Latvia and about the experience of commercializing science from the perspective of technology-intensive start-up Lesla developing wireless power transfer technology.
The ISSP UL scientists presented the ongoing studies of hydrogen and other research areas taking place in the laboratories of the institute. Participants could learn about aluminum waste recycling for hydrogen production (project AliCE-WHy), research on functional materials in smart windows applications (project SWEB),
In addition, participants were able to network with presenters, think-tankers, and implementers in an informal setting, building a creative and innovative ecosystem of ideas.
