European Commission Officer and Reviewers Visit ISSP UL

Review of CAMART² - the biggest project of the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia, was organized by the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission on October 25 – 26, 2018.

The objective of the review was to assess the progress of the work, whether all tasks have been completed, whether resources have been purposefully planned and used appropriately, as well as other qualitative and quantitative indicators that are essential for the successful implementation of the project.

The review panel consisted of the CAMART² project EC Officer and Advisor Konstantinos Amolochitis and the following experts:

  • Dr. Stéphane David from the Institute CEA LIST, France. The LIST institute is one of three institutes which comprises CEA Tech and is committed to technological innovation in digital systems. Its R&D activities are driven by major economic, societal and industrial challenges - encompass four main themes: factory of the future, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence and digital health.
  • Dr. Kaczmarek Malgosia, University of Southampton and ECS Partners Ltd, UK. The University of Southampton is in the top 100 universities according to the QS World University Rankings 2019. ECS Partners Ltd is a commercial consultancy service that draws on the skills and capabilities of our leading electronics and computer science researchers.

The reviewers also visited premises of ISSP UL to get a close look at everyday life of the institute.
