Towards Horizon Europe Implementation in Latvia

The Ministry of Education and Science, in cooperation with the State Education Development Agency, organized a conference “Towards Horizon Europe Implementation in Latvia” on November 7-8, 2019, in Riga.

The conference was opened by President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits. The concept of Horizon Europe was presented by Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the European Commission for Research and Innovation.

On the first day of the conference, Latvia’s achievements in the EU research and innovation program Horizon 2020 were discussed, whereas on the second day of the conference it was possible to find out the topics of the next Horizon Europe programme, as well as the conditions for the development and implementation of projects from the representatives of the European Commission. CAMART2 project had a special stand at the conference and discussions about the project with the representatives from European Commission took place.

Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia was represented by the Chair of the Scientific Council and senior researcher of Laboratory of Spectroscopy Dr. phys. Laima Trinklere.

Horizon Europe provides € 100 billion for research and innovation to address climate change, strengthen European integrity and global competitiveness.
